Kenya 2005 Ref KA-2004 KA 2005

Kenya is the resting place of our founder, Baden Powell. It is a beautiful country that presents great opportunities to climb Mount Kenya, visit some of the best Safari Parks in the world, or stand on the equator.

UK Scouts have had many connections with Kenya over the past decades. We are now in the processes of looking for new projects to assist Kenyan scouts and continue this close relationship. In the summer of 2003 a small team of UK Scouts, will join the International Commissioner, David Bull, on a visit to Scout Regional Headquarters, in Nairobi. They will be meeting with scouting officials, reviewing potential community projects and formulating future expeditions. Their visit will hopefully be followed by a mini expedition in 2004 and a full expedition in 2005.

We are now actively looking to recruit expedition leaders and participants for both of these expeditions. If you are a scout looking to achieve your Explorer Belt, you are advised to enquiry about the 2005 expedition. If you have previous experience of expeditions in Africa you can enquire about either or both. These expeditions are open to Scouts aged 16 to 60+. A full presentation of the proposed expeditions to Kenya will be given at the Africa Network Scout Fellowship meeting, on 24th-26th October at Chalfont Heights Scout Campsite, Buckinghamshire.
